Johnny came by the house to visit Jake and Elise. Brad was there. Brad had been telling them that while the
prosecutor had initially planned to charge Jake will all manner of charges, the
charges had been quietly dropped. The
prosecutor said that he would see that it stayed that way, so long as Jake didn’t
become a crusader. All of this was off
the record, of course.
Johnny asked if he could pull his car into their
garage. They smiled and said they had
left the right bay open in case he had wanted to do that. Johnny went outside, pulled his car in, and
shut the garage door. When he
reappeared, he was hold a bag of high capacity magazines and the case that no
doubt held the AR-15 that Jake had smuggled out on that fateful day.
Jake and Elise locked the gun up in their gun case.
They opened a bottle of wine and drank a toast. “To The American People” Johnny said. “Here Here” was the reply and the all took
deep drafts from their glasses.
